$3 billion, rapidly growing market leader in print and web-development software

Enterprise use of SyncDev on product including Flash®, Dreamweaver®, Flex® and other graphics and web products.

Adobe’s CEO brought SyncDev in with their acquisition of Macromedia. One of Macromedia’s products had stumbled two years earlier, significantly reducing their earnings. To improve development processes, Macromedia chose SyncDev. One of the early products they applied it to was Dreamweaver® Release 6, the mature market-leading webpage layout software. The team was highly experienced, many members having worked on several earlier releases. But when they used SyncDev product-planning tools, including the $100 R&D Test™, a conjoint analysis for specing the Minimum Viable Product™, none of the nine planned features survived the twenty-some customer design reviews. This produced a substantial change to the Dreamweaver 6 spec, contributing to it being one of their most successful releases. Adobe is now rolling out SyncDev to most of its products.
